Digital Ethnography class

See Michael Wesch's description of how he teaches the way he teaches his class. Also, here is an archived session of the interview with Michael Wesch and students that the NMC put on last week. See my post about it below.

E-Text "books"

Here’s an article from yesterday’s Chronicle of Higher Ed. The discussion in the comments is interesting. Electronic textbooks are still a new thing and it seems unclear if it will work or not. Of course there are pros and cons of having a digital text over a hard copy…

other universities are starting to offer e-texts. here are blog posts from Cal State and Bowling Green:

Will students like it? No one is really sure yet...I do not like to read on my computer, but then again, if the price is right, I might rather print out the parts I need and read the rest on the screen than pay $100+ for a hard copy of a book I will only need for a few months. Also, being able to do word searches is a bonus.

Thanks to Alita (our Electronic Service Librarian) for the references.
